GOVERNOR HALEY BARBOUR SETS SPECIAL ELECTIONS

 

(JACKSON, Mississippi) – Governor Haley Barbour has set the date of two special elections in Wilkinson County to decide the elected offices of District 2 Supervisor, Sheriff, and Circuit Clerk.

 

In accordance with Circuit Judge Person’s ruling, Governor Barbour has set June 24, 2008, as the date for a special Democratic primary election to select the party’s nominee for the offices of District 2 Supervisor, Sheriff, and Circuit Clerk.

 

The winners of these special Democratic primary elections will appear on the ballot in the special general election, which Governor Barbour has set for July 22, 2008.
