A Proclamation WHEREAS, the Muscular Dystrophy Association is a national voluntary health agency working to defeat forty-three neuromuscular diseases; and WHEREAS, individual private contributors fund nearly all the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s extensive research, community service, and public health education programs; and WHEREAS, millions of people will participate year-round in special events to benefit the more than one million Americans affected by neuromuscular disease; and WHEREAS, the Muscular Dystrophy Association serves more than 800 families within the State of Mississippi: NOW, THEREFORE, I, Haley Barbour, Governor of the State of Mississippi, hereby proclaim May 6th through 7th, 2004, as COOL AND CASUAL DAY FOR MDA in the State of Mississippi.
